Veteran comedian Ernesto Fajardo, more popularly known as Don Pepot, has died at the age of 88.
The late comedian’s son Michael Fajardo announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday that his father died of acute respiratory failure due to COVID-19 on Tuesday night.
“Our beloved Ernesto ‘Don Pepot’ Fajardo passed away yesterday at 8:32pm due to acute respiratory failure; Covid confirmed critical. His wake will be at Solennelle Funeral Homes at Valenzuela, along Maysan Road,” wrote Michael.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News, Don Pepot went in and out of the hospital in October last year, got back in December, until he passed away on Tuesday.
Following the private wake for his family, friends and relatives, Don Pepot’s cremated remains can be viewed by the public on Saturday, January 22.
Don Pepot, who shot to popularity in the 1980s, had notable roles in John and Marsha, Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako, Dyesebel, Oki Doki Dok The Movie, among many others.
