Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards are confirmed to star in the Pinoy adaptation of 2020 hit Korean series Start-Up.
The Kapuso stars were announced as the lead stars for the GMA 7 remake of the K-drama in a 24 Oras report on Friday.
Start-Up, which revolves around the story of aspiring entrepreneurs, originally starred Bae Suzy and Nam Joo-hyuk, Kim Seon-ho and Kang Han-na.
“This is my first K-drama adaptation project. Parang ang sarap lang sa pakiramdam na mabigyan ng opportunity to be able do something na hinahanap ng audience,” Alden told Nelson Canlas.
Bea, meanwhile, revealed that the project was already pitched to her prior to her network switch.
“It is one of the reasons why I decided to become a Kapuso. Now that finally it is happening, I’m very very excited,” said Bea.
CJ Entertainment, Start-Up’s producer was quoted as saying: “GMA has always been a great partner, and it is great to see them remaking one of my favorite series in Philippines.”
Fans have yet to see the “certain surprises”, portrayals of Bea and Alden, and revelation of other cast in the remake.
GMA News added that the local version is set to begin its lock-in taping next month, and is expected to air this year.
